The Art-Sessio'2007

As a famous Russian writer Michael Weller said all we do together or separately is nothing but self-actualization. Therefore if somebody tries to maintain that he acts entirely in behalf of you, you may say offhand something like “relax, pal”. What is especially good about the 16 th exhibition-contest for the students of art “Sessio-Art” which took place on May, 20-21 this year in Vitebsk , is that the event is held definitely not under constraint. Another fact: Sessio-Art encourages the self-actualization of anyone who has some respect to the event: participants, spectators, guests, partners and even members of the board of experts.

Now, all in right order.

1. The contestants are free to choose style, form and dimensions of their entry works. And they do! And we accept! And we believe that on the 20 th anniversary of Sessio-Art we'll be presented with a golden sculpture weighing 3-4 ton. This year among the participants of the contest were 166 artists from educational institutions of Belarus , Russia and Latvia , that submitted for the experts judgment 130 entries (209 art-objects).

2. Sessio-Art has no accidental spectators. No one comes here just for fun.

3. Our guests are always the desired ones. The contemporary dance theater “Vortex” new very well what the special place Vitebsk is. The choreography of Denis Boroditsky is very special, original too. During twenty years of the International festival of modern choreography we saw much choreography from all over the world. There are a number of professional works in this field, but such kind of understanding, feeling of music and motion is extremely rare to meet. As for the dancers, their mastery was beyond praise. In the end of the evening 1200 people rose in applause after their performance “Next to you”.

4. The partners of Sessio-Art are intelligent people. Of course, some showbiz events attract much more audience. But the question is what kind of audience their have. We are glad that our project is supported by many serious people and companies. This year among our donors were MTS company (the general partner), Belinvestbank, Belpromstroybank, Belwest, Belsoft, Vitfarmmarket, Gamma-tour, Medkniga, DecaStyle and Conica-photoexpress. We express our gratitude to the Consulate of Latvian Republic in Vitebsk for their help with arrangement of Latvian students' coming.

But the luckiest ones were the members of the expert board. In fact, what can be more pleasant than make a note in your memoirs about discovering first some future star?
